It used to work in some phone boxes too. I think it was the ones with the A and B button?

I was too honest, typical of me, sent them back, BT probably just chucked them in a warehouse and then skipped them a few years later....

 

I can remember doing it once to ring my mum to come and pick me up. It avoided the coin mechanism somehow.

 

They are, effectively. Refurbished by BT…sometime (80s?). Can’t remember how I aquired them. The dial mechs are in need of a bit of lubrication…

 

Ooh, I too had a NOS 741 wall mounted model in grey just the same as yours, still in its bag - sadly sold along with the others. Have to say, I do like that brown 746
