This is on eBay at the moment (nothing to do with me), and the roof over the cab is interesting – it’s a Bay with what looks like a splitscreen roof at the front with its windscreen overhang. The photos show it front-on, side-on (a bit dark though) and from inside. Looks nicely done too, although must have been a challenge (?). I quite like it but the windscreen looks like it could be a problem to change maybe. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/37435423...kORHVxC0ZGw/MwEHEdYq+yBlg=|tkp:Bk9SR-LA8s6PYQ
Could almost be a fibreglass moulding grafted over the front of a standard roof. It looks more like its a sheet a few mm thick so the screen seal will still be easy to access, theres a gap for spiders up there.. In the side view you can see the slight bulge as it meets the stock roof, where the reinforcing ridge sort of vanishes under it..
I once saw a whole splitty front put onto a bay at Great Malvern dub fest years ago ,it was well fitted and the guy was been congratulated for his efforts . I wish i took a photo of it . But it was years before i got involved with the bus scene ...it will probably be still around or maybe reversed to T2 or maybe its a pile of brown dust and 4 wheels lying next to it .
Ugly and weird and also a bit wobbly, and how is it finished underneath? Can't see the top of the screen. no idea why anyone would do that, what benefit do you get? And no mention of it in the description? No thanks.
Its an alternative to the sun shades bolted to the seams on the door pillars I suppose. I have even more of the screen covered than that with a sun shade. The gaps in the edge are for water to drain off.
Just searched for Baysplits and this piccy from 2007 came up: It was described as a "fibreglass peak from bay splits "
