Took out the fuel sender without cutting a hole.
Knock locking ring round with a chisel and a hammer.
Push it forwards, slide to left side of tank, out it comes.
Think it needs a new one.

And one of the breather hoses had popped off above the tank..

Oh no, the sender seal vanished... it must be swimming in the tank in pieces as I cant feel it on top of the tank...
Oh well theres a newish filter sock over the outlet so it can be a job for a day when the tank is empty..

By the way, the JK throttle cable sleeve is the exact correct length but I had to pull one of the ends off the old one so I had the 'cone' that guides the tube through the fanhousing to line up with the bowden tube. Needed a bit of work with the taper on the wrong end of a drift to open out the crimp enough to knock it back on.

Please don't chuck out the original Mike. I think I can rewind that one. Would you keep it for TE if it's not too much bother?

Went out for a drive in it.
Went well, but would stall at junctions.
Screwed the air screw out a turn, seems better.

Took the clutch and flywheel off, checked for oil leaks - it turned out to be OK, the oil coming out of the bellhousing turns out to be pretty well 100% gearbox oil.
Some grease spinning out off the splines of the driveshaft. But mostly a build up of dust around the edge of the clutch plate, its not going down the holes provided but packing in round the edge of the plate. Might explain why it judders first thing, as the dust drops into the gap betweeen the pressure plate and the face of the clutch.

Cleaned it up and reinstalled it all.

Its only done about 18000 miles, and the case and flywheel were new. So I am glad that it is not leaking yet.

Thanks Mike. I've found the correct wire for the job, NOT what the guy on YouTube suggested as that's wrong. I need to practise the winding bit but I think I can do it accurately.
