  1. Don't worry about it. Worth nipping your fronts up (or better still, replacing them). Might as well change your discs and pads while the hubs are off ;)

  4. It's either that or I change it now, but then what do I do with the old one that still works?

I know mate. It kills me. I've got a workshop full of old VW scrap...I mean proper scrapman scrap, no longer fit for purpose scrap... and I can't even throw that away!
The current Mrs Monkey is acting as enforcer and threatening all sorts if I don't sort it out quicktime

  6. Keep it all, you never know when it will come in handy!

I've never cut a gasket by hand before. Should do the job hopefully

You can also use a ball pein hammer and tap it along the sharp edges of the metal through the gasket, to cut fiddly bits. .. like my progressive carburettor gasket. A £2 bit of paper makes about 6 gaskets instead of £12.50 each..

The rear wheel bearing kits I got from Heritage had a little play when fitted new, but when I destroyed one in 40 miles by putting the outer bearing in slightly crooked, the quickly sourced locally GSF replacement had no play.
Both styles have rolled on OK ever since.
Note I dont blame the bearing supplier unlike some...

Weld it all up into a interesting shape, sell it at your local market to an ‘Artisan type’.
    Should pay for Christmas.

Got the old corroded anti roll bar off Major, new one bolted up, clamps to clean up and refit and we're sorted for now.

Then its hibernation time for until february whilst Gusbus gets serviced / mot'd

Managed to change the drivers side sun visor where Devon had pop riveted a curtain track over its fixings..
Some drilling and new pop rivets .. had to use a stack of M3 nuts on the nose of the riveter to squeeze it into a small gap.which kept flying off when the shaft of the rivet popped... 20211205_092816.jpg

  20. Didn’t know you could just pop the rear of the sliding door out like that.
    Very useful.
