  1. This is what I always have to hand:

    Tinned Tomatoes
    Canellini Beans
    Stock Cubes
    Garlic
    Onions
    Chilli Flakes
    Cheddar Cheese
    Parmizan Cheese
    Tinned Tuna
    Anchovies
    Curry Powder
    Mixed Herbs
    Lemons
    Olive Oil
    Soy Sauce

What should be added or removed?

  2. Terrordales

    Terrordales Nightshift

    Add ....... alcohol :)

  3. We always take pasta and rice, pre-weighed and bagged in the required quantities.
And there's a small stash of tins of various things like stew & baked beans. It feels a bit like cheating using those, but they're really just fallbacks in case we get stuck.

Anything to remove off your list? I guess the answer is... anything that you keep bringing back home with you. (If it were me, I doubt I would get through many of those lemons)

  4. Pod

    Pod

Bacon, egg, butter, bread and ketchup. Bin the tuna but the rest sounds great, early lunch coming on I think

  5. Tuna, Pasta & olive oil is essential, everything else is extra.

  6. salt , could not live without salt, been known to eat salt little at time , i love salt !

  7. We tend to have a chorizo in the coolbox - you can stick it in with bolognese or chilli in place of mince, any kind of tomato pasta, risotto/paella, omlettes the choice is endless. You can't beat the convenience of it.

For our first long trip in the van we put a few tins of emergency supplies in the cupboard, we have :- Stewed steak, Tinned veg, tinned potatoes (theerfore instant stew on cold wet days) Baked beans, for some reason Sharon wanted a tin of custard, a jar of olives, some crackers and breadsticks. We've also got an american pancake kit which worked really well.

  8. Always have;

    Salt & Pepper
    Olive/Sunflower Oil
    Balsamic
    Honey
    Pasta
    A few tins
    Emergency Pesto
    Good (and rubbish) Chocolate.
    Red Wine

Everything else I try and get fresh and local.

  9. I always have:

    tin of beans
    bread for toasting

    Sorted.

No, seriously, there is a box of basic condiments we always have in the van, including:

    Salt mill full of seasalt
    Peppermill full of black peppercorns
    olive oil
    red sauce
    worcester sauce
    marmite
    mayo
    vinegar

and then we'll have assorted tins of things like chopped tomatoes and kidney beans, pasta sauce, pasta, rice and stuff like that, you know things that you can easily adapt into a meal with a few fresh things bought in.

And if we take the electric oven, we'll also make sure there's an emergency Frey Bentos pie in too. ;)
