  1. door finished.
most of the welding is almost finished. what is left to do is the back section engine hinge panel and some work around the weather strip recess and the panel around it near the tail lights.

  2. Anyone also know where I can get some original VW colour schemes or examples of paint work with upholstery. I need to match the paint to the upholstery and to be an original vw scheme. just thought to start looking to get some ideas.

The internet. Samba is a good starting point. They have paint charts and upholstery codes galore

As ^ but I've found colour matching on a screen is a nightmare. I went to my local paint supplier and they had a book I could look at of old VW chips. What I learnt, to my cost after a few paint trials, is how much difference the base coat colour makes to the final colour.

  5. there are only about 5 choices for my model from the samba website I have if I want to go original. unless I go for another colour. I really don't know. The only exception is the paint will be epoxy not acrylic like before.

70's colours were a bit ... bright! 60's splitty colours were nice. 50's even more tasteful.

  9. Does anybody have a photo of this cross anchor installed. Just trying to find a reference so I can weld it in soon. I remember there are two only at the back of the floor on front of the rear wheel hubs.

I wouldn't fit them unless you have a genuine Westfalia rock and roll bed or you're going to fit microbus seats.

  12. yes I have just the normal rear seats. not rock n roll or the westfalia.

  13. Can someone measure for me, the length of their kombi please. Probably the length from the rear to front bumper. Im building shelving in my garage and bringing it back in a couple of weeks so it still needs to fit.

  16. Thanks. I thought the length was 4.1 but its then 4.5.
do you know why you see some models have 1 bench seat for two plus a drivers seat. Are they randomly made like this?

  17. they are from single cabs or DOKAs.
A lot of work and engineering needed to fit it to a bus
