Can't find this album in one piece but here's "Part 1". Epic stuff from when I was 3... if you like this kind of thing. At the time (1963), and even still now, the production was considered something very special. They don't make 'em like they used to.
I was at this show, probably the best live show I’ve ever been to. It sounded a lot better live than it does on YouTube. Electric Light Orchestra Part 2.
Been enjoying Bowie's new album this week, though as it's mostly some of his oldest songs re-recorded over 20 years ago I'm not sure it qualifies as new. Very good though apart from the rather scary looking cover. Sent from my MAR-LX1A using Tapatalk
First in is excellent and challenging, quite avant-garde for 1963...second made me feel that I was walking up the stairs in the Odeon to the circle and looking at pictures of Anne Margaret and Sammy Davis Jnr. whilst skivivng from school to watch Clockwork Orange. Happy memories thanks.
And Mr Slater’s Parrot. “We hope to hear him swear. We love to hear him squeak. We like to see him biting fingers with his horny beak”
Then there is Sir Henry ...Rawlinson's End ....They say if ever a man's sole is pure then a snake bite won't harm you ....Poor old Hargreaves died almost Immediately .
I love that one, if for nothing else but the title! Brilliant film, completely bonkers... I had a wonderful old VHS copy that got played to death, until I managed to finally track down a DVD of it. Ghosts without trousers, and stuffed dogs Not sure you'd get away with Sir Henry 'blacked up' riding a unicycle to the village these days though !!
