White Field Forest near Ryde IOW

  1. Just spent 7 nights at this camp site. The camp site is up a little track off the main road just out side Ryde.
The camp site itself is set in the woods, with pitches set out either side of a ring road that goes all the way round the site. The pitches are fairly level, and clearly marked, and all have Electric.
A nice mix of tents and caravans and a few Bays whilst we were there.

The toilets and showers were brilliant. Very clean, always hot and with the added benefit of 2 family rooms to get the kids showered. Plenty of fresh water taps around the site.

A freezer was available on site for cool blocks for 10p a block ( bit tight really)

Nice kids play area in the trees, but no open field for ball games

Only down side is there is some road noise, as the main road is near.

All in all a nice site. Friendly staff, well maintained and managed

Currently looking for an IOW site so thanks for the review.

  3. Just stayed 3 nights here and echo the review above.

Ice blocks are now 20p each.

    Red squirrels on site.

    Terraced pitches so mostly flat.

It is a top quality site with regards to facilities and the price reflects that. Hookup is 'free', so if you don't have it you are subsidising those that do.

Probably wouldn't revisit. Prefer things a bit more rustic.
