When I take the heads to a machine shop to have them opened up to take the larger barrels What exactly am I asking them to do? I take it the step in the combustion chamber gets machined out.
Blocking off filler in 30 odd degree heat isn’t fun. I’ve Betty swallocks now I’m going to tap a few high spots down before skimming again.
Tapped down the high spots a little then keyed those areas up. Ran the block over it a bit more now the high spots are not knocking the block off kilter Skimmed it again
The sanding block kit was under £30 on eBay And the sanding sheets cost just under £6 for 5 sheets also from eBay
rember back a few years what i told ye , 50 50 mix fiberglass p 40 mixed with filler , skim run number plate up panel to find levels . scrape of high build up lows with excess, very easy to rub . your making work for your self . mine is still perfect and earning the owners a mint as a wedding bus also it doesn t crack or sag
tiny now got sorry bought his own project at the weekend for £100 96 polo with 53000 miles coolrunning
Ey up Owen nice to see you on the forum again Because of the depth of the distortion on the panel and the fact corrosion had all ready started on the panel I wanted to do the first few parts of the build up with straight fibreglass. I’m onto normal filler know so the harder sanding is out of the way
Sorry I can’t figure out how to do eBay links on my phone but I’ve done some screenshots if that helps
