I was Little Piglet...You always loved in Bristol? My wife used to live at Windmill Hill, when she was born, apparently, now it’s really expensive there...
Yes and I’ve lived here as well since 1976 when I swam over from Oz. Windmill Hill is the other side of town from us, I’m almost on the A420 which is the road to Wick, Marshfield and then Chippenham. I worked for a cable company for a bit and went into Frome quite a bit and Warminster Melksham and Trowbridge, it was my first foray into direct sales, very illuminating Ozziedog,,,,,,plus I got my very own ring road here too
Remember at the invincible age of 16, on a YTS training scheme at Newport Skillcentre, our instructor in the Domestic Appliance maintenance dept used to bore us sideways with details of his set-up in his Chevette, complete with a whippy aerial that must have been 8ft long. Yes, he wore brown slacks.....
Does anyone really believe that Historic vehicles will be allowed a tax-free existence for much longer?
If this post-Covid migration mentality really does materialise then rural will be the new urban.......
With so many londoners realising working from home is viable its started already . Plenty for sale around here helped along with the easing up on stamp duty. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Yes, quite a while before the drive for climate change took the city charges regional. My gut feel is that they'll have another look as the numbers of historic vehicles has increased, maybe starting with the current exemptions to existing and proposed city charges.
My parents were keen members of REACT and would drag me off to all the car treasure hunts and convoys normally to Westbury White Horse or Weston beach. We had a massive dipole in the back garden that if we turned it up we could knock out the neighbours TV signal
Yes, of course, as it’s a reward for getting your van running cleanly and safely, without plugging it in. It’s a dying skill, hey, some say “Even Art!
And which part of that do you actually A) - believe ? B) - think they give a toss about ? or C) - See anything but old polluting junk when they look at "clean and safe classics" ? I think we`ve done quite well so far , don`t think it`ll last ...
Yes I do. Loads of rich/ influential/ government types have lots of old classic cars. They won't want to be paying a year's road tax on them all! I've had about 20 years of tax free so far. Long may it continue. Historic vehicles should also be exempt from charges to enter cities and low emmision zones. I accept our buses may kick out a bit more pollution than modern vehicles, but in terms of lifetime pollution created, its better to keep vehicles on the road as long as possible
