091 gearbox

looking for a nose cone bush for a 091 6rib box part no 091 301 207 ?
(hockey stick bush)

 

Do 6 rib have bushes? I have a 5 rib 1800 nosecone on mine and it has funky little bearings...

 

the bearing then , have changed the seal still leaks
the rod has play

 

The balls have an outer race that fits in the nosecone, but run on the hockeystick itself as the inner if that helps - maybe you've lost your balls? I think you need to looksee what you have. VW were odd sometimes and tried good things for a bit then abandoned then to save cash.
Whether balls or bushes fixing the slop should also help the gear shifting. I guess balls if there's a lot of slop.

 

If ball bearings, I think you may have to source on the net from a general bearing supplier with outer/inner sizes. You'll probably find they're £1 each, so having done your homework, buy 20 and sell the rest on here for £10 each. You need two per hockeystick.

 

Was it you changing the seal with the box in situ? How did that go?

 

not me but have done it twice in situ.

had the engine and box out today ,nose cone off bearings look ok but the ball on the hockey stick is ducked.
vwh out of stock .

 

That's annoying, such a cheap, easy to fit part too... some supplier must have some?

 

found some place in France all the UK guys seem not to stock it
