I'm going water-cooled so my 1600 TP Twin carb'd turn key will be up for grabs. Good strong engine, needs the crank case oil seal replacing which I'll do before it goes.
let me know what sort of price you're looking for. i'm looking for a cheap temporary solution as i have one that is going to be re-built but need to build up funds for that
It won't be cheap as its a good solid motor. It'll be going as a turnkey with the twin carbs and all the tinwear.
Mechanical work starts on Monday. Need to save some money until we can get the engine rebuilt. That's why I'm looking for a temporary 'runner' so we can get up and running in the meantime
I've been through the prices with them and looked into what they would be elsewhere. Although there are some differences (up and down) everything evens out and doesnt appear to be fleecing me. That said I do recognise they're not the cheapest. But they seem to be honest with me (I've checked some of the things they told me and never found anything to be wrong). It's quite a list of things that need fixing or replacing (or actually finding its missing) - but they're showed me what each is and even I can see what they mean We've gone through the list and agreed what is recommended as opposed to required.
Sounds like you've been doing your homework and as long as your happy with them doing right by you then your halfway there! It's just the funding of the dream to sort then
So back to the original request. Has anyone got a complete 1600 engine that is in good enough condition to get up and running at a reasonable price?
