OASIS played Knebworth. Where has the time gone???? I'm still stuck in the 90's & more than happy there.
the other day as I walked to local shops ,a young dude opinioned " hey ,you look like (now dead ?) Bon Scott ," me> "son ,your way too young to know who Bon Scott is", which got me thinking > 1974 >AC/DC , Glasgow city halls , £1 entry, >>> bliss ! now ,where is my zimmer frame thingy?
Great lineup that weekend at Knebworth as The Manic Street Preachers were also on the bill along with Kula Shaker, Cast and The Charlatans. I also remember it taking hours to get out of there and having to go to work the following morning with a cracking hangover...Happy Days!
Queen at Knebworth, supported by the Quo with Big Country amongst others.....late 80's perhaps? Ditto on getting out - worse than Silverstone!
Getting off the site was a nightmare. And I didn't have anything to eat or drink at the site because the stalls were a long way through a huge amount of people
I'd still go & watch them though. My brother was at V festival & saw their last ever gig. Gutted I wasn't there, no one knew that was going to happen either.
Went to that gig myself, superb! Still, if they hadn't broken up we wouldn't have had High Flying Birds - now that's a good album....
I was at knebworth also. I still have the poster in the loft somewhere. Was a great day out. The wait to get a beer was a pain in the rear end but a top gig.
