accelerator pedal and link bar which end is which?

I have this type of accelerator linkage, which sits in the recess in the floor (RHD)



the thing is, I dont know which end connects to the cable and which end connects to the pedal....until I know I cant install it....and so I cant install my accellerator pedal!!

I would have thought this end was for the cable?



and this end to the pedal?



can any one confim which end is which?

I've seen those diagrams before but cant really make out the detail of which end is which in them I think mine looks closest to the top left diagram, but the end of the rod/linkage both look the same in the pic

forgot to say, the van in a 1972 crossover

 

Mines the middle left one and the nut end is the cable / through floor end

 

now you've pointed that out I think that is the same as mine

Mine had a square hole so could only go in one place
