Accelerator Pedal

Now I'm moving onto the accelerator pedal install.
It's had a new floor welded in previously, I have the accelerator hinge (the part that bolts/welds to the floor), but I have no reference point as to where the hinge goes. Can anyone post a picture with a ruler for guidance so I know where to stick it. I have got the /buttys Bits rod to the underside of the pedal to the cross bar but not the cross bar itself and I just don't seem to be able to get it right :-s

    Thanks again

Isn't there a depression in the floor for the pedal hinge (which tucks under the pedal BTW)?
You don't have a cross bar or you didn't replace with a butties bit?
If there is no indentation on the floor, connect all the parts up to the cross shaft and experiment. Push the pedal to fully turn the cross shaft, then move the hinge to and fro until you get that without having to push the pedal through your floor coverings and the pedal is on a sensible angle at no throttle. If you still have the original rubber cab mat that might be helpful for marking a start point at least

  3. Hi Zed
I think that the floor panel was welded in quite a few years ago. The pan doesn't have an indentation at all.(It's been through various owners and repairers before it got to me). I have the standard cross bar. As for the cab mat, not a chance I'm afraid. Just a bare metalled rolling shell and various boxes of random parts.
I spent a fun packed afternoon yesterday trying to find the pedal sweet spot and couldn't quite find it, hence the request for a pic.

    Cheers

I get about 12.5 cm from the centre of the pivot bar to the centre of the hinge pivot.

And it needs the indentation in the floor for the hinge to "collapse" as the end stop of the pedal hits the floor ..

This location was also found by trial and error as a huge wodge of my floor came up one day , a sandwich of about 5 bits of metal and rust under the pedal.
It broke free and I had to lift the pedal up with my foot when I wanted to slow down.
The hinge was welded to a new blank patch on the floor.

This has a couple of M4 rose joints on it in the style of Buttys Bits.
