Air intake

Type4 2ltr, standard twin solex carbs and filter box, I've noticed there's no flexible pipe on the air intake and am wondering where this goes to when its there?
ie where should it be sucking its air in from?

 

it goes on the o/s of the engine bay then towards the battery

 

Ok cheers, does the end just dangle about near the battery or should it attach to something?

 

mine just dangled there but i think i had a bit missing

 

Mine has a bright yellow cable tie holding it up above the battery

 

@zed did tell me where the pipe went . . . . . . . . . . . But I forgetted!
