alternator measurement please

Sorry...another alternator question I know!!!!

can any one who has an alternator which is not fitted at the moment (but preferably has been at some point with no issues) take a measurement for me (preferably a couple of people for a comparison)

I'm after the length of the shaft the fan mounts on (not the pulley end)

either length 'A' from the coller to the end of the shaft

or length 'B' from the alternator case to the end of the shaft

Ill try and do it over the next few days for you

 

Measurement B i get approx 34 mm diddy

think mine and the other I've measured is around that....about 30mm so not much in it

.....so I think the shaft must be sitting at a slight angle, meaning I have to pack the fan out further to clear the back plate

I've spoken to Heritage and they said they will take it back to examine (and collect it ) ....but I just want to double check with the other alternator and put a clock gauge on the shaft before I send it back

 

Measurment A is approx 3o mm
