Amescador rear hatch tent

Anyone else got one of these.?

I just placed an order and will do a product review shortly.

 

The idea behind getting this is so we can still have a double bed without laying flat the rock'n'roll rear seat. So we still keep the lounge area.

 

Similar to a Double Back, but on a budget compared to £45,000

 

Can I ask how much you've paid please Baghead? I quite like the idea of that...

 

Hmmmmmm. Quite a lot. In total it was 750Euros. Shipping and fees (Paypal) was just over 100 !!

I hope it's worth it, the kids don't like sleeping in the awning and it is quite unique over here...... That's me talking to my self, encouraging me that it's money well spent

 

Saw one years ago I was worried about my weight on the overhang it was only a bit of ply and a couple of straps

 

Looks the dogs! I really fancy that! Will be very interested in the product review

 

Wouldn't you put your legs over the overhang bit and your body over the engine bay?

 

How do you get into it ?climb over the back seat or jump up from the rear ?

i like the look of that! but do you have to drill holes in the body for the framework and such?
because i dont think i would like that idea so much...

 

Problem is BaG hEaD is that where ever you go people will want to see it and have a go on it ,end up doing your head in after a while

Ok, unpacked the tent and it looks to be of good quality, made of 1970's style canvas. So it does look the part and very retro

Of course it does come with the wooden base plate as postage for this would be too high, (Item comes from Norway)

However they do simply a diagram with dimensions so anybody with basic carpentry skills can make it.
