Any Silversmiths on here?

I have three bracelets / chains and they all have broken or worn out catches, i wondered if there was any one on here that is able to repair them and replace the catches with a sturdier version?

 

I need one too. I have a Thai bangle with a crack in it. I will be keeping an eye on this one.

 

Have you got any pics of broken areas/catches…silver, gold etc?

 

…here's a pic of a miniature welsh rugby cap I was asked to make for a lady who's daughter got her first cap playing for the Welsh ladies rugby team... She got 4 caps in total.
It was a bit of a fiddle as it was so small, the 3x feathers in gold were the worst.
And a few other pieces …

 

Will get a pick up over the weekend hopefully. Need to get the bangle out of a box somewhere in bedroom. Do you do repairs bertie78 if so can you send me a PM.

there is some nice stuff there .. i used to do quite a bit ,found i had the skills but lacked big time on the design side of things ,

 

Two the catches have broken, one the chain has worn through, i was hoping to have the worn one shortened slightly and two tough catches put on

Yes , just a little selection.
I'm a jobbing goldsmith … selfemployed ... sounds glam but it's just a job.
A lot of repair work mainly ... And bespoke wedding & engagement rings... Well pretty much anything .

It's hard to tell from you're pics as to what size catches you would need but the repairs shouldn't be a problem.
Is the necklace damaged at the end ?
The only problem would be the postage as it would have to be posted via special delivery to be covered ... The only way you can cover/ send jewellery By post.
Hard to give you a price without seeing it and also the p+p will add to it but I'm no rip off artist and we've got a very good name in the area for doing a good job at a good price. I can send you my mobile number if you want a chat. Pm me

 

The top one is also a chain, worn through right next to the solid part, im fine with sending them to you special delivery so you can have a look.

They look like earth straps, Keith. Just buy some of them, much cheaper. Lol

 

Funny you should say that, a couple of years ago i earthed a washing machine through the middle one and out a finger on the other hand.
Ambulance then John Radcliffe Hosp then Stoke Mandeville burns unit
And before anyone asks i didnt bump into Mr Saville!
