with out meaning to thread jack, and keeping headlining in one thread....... has any one got any cool ideas on how to do a devon roof lining around the pop top opening? mine originally was headlining material over foam which was glued to the openings, the headlining was mitre stitched in the corners of the pop top.......not sure my sewing is up to that standard/accuracy though ....and the pop top mechanism would bolt to the roof through the head liner at the sides.
Yours is a standard factory headliner cut out to accommodate the pop top with fillets glued into the corners, I'm pretty certain they weren't stitched
Still need to do the panels along the sides and above the rear seat but here is my first panel in. 3mm ply but not birch. I was going to cover in fablon so was not worried but decided to varnish and see what it looked like. Actually came out better than I thought it would. A real **** to get in and in the end had to 'go for it' with a well placed thump. Had a minor crack but it is not very noticeable so it can stay as is.
Finished off the headlining today. New Fablon on all surfaces except the cab. Not sure yet if I will cover this as well but I will leave as is for the moment.
