Anyone use a Rasberry Pi?

Just thought I'd ask - I'm going to get one this week I think, just wondering if anyone else had one and what you use it for...

I'm thinking of getting one. A mate has one and runs XBMC. on it to play movies from a Nas onto his tv

What are you going to use yours for Moons ? We got one for the kids to learn stuff on but they dont seem to be that interested or I have not given them sufficient help and encouragement. I set up xbmc and it worked fine, I also set up a webcam with motion detection so we could see who is at the front door. You need to have a use for them and remember what their good at - ie they are small, low powered and cheap. They are not particularly powerful though

 

I was just reading about the creation team - the onus was to produce a cheap hackable product (primarily for kids) that people would learn to code rather than consume again.

Just wondered who'd used one here - it's been a while since I played so thought I'd take a look.

Can you attach a laser to the front door device do you think?

 

I've got one...used as a media streamer. I'd love the kids to get into it for what it was intended (i.e. introduction to programming) but interest was rapidly lost in favour of Scooby Doo on Boomerang

 

My son has got one.
He seems to do stuff on it.
But it's all beyond me.
