Carefully measured my deck height ordered from vw heritage and they send me the shims for the wrong engine Ordered from cool air and waited 4 weeks and the send me 0.02 not 0.04 that I ordered and was shown on the invoice How hard is this stuff Now been looking at my engine for 2 months not making any progress AAAAAAAAARGH !!!!! Anybody got barrel spacers (not for the heads) at 0.04 or 0.06 type 4 2 litre engine ????
Need 4 All above in inches Current deck height as measured with no shims spacers in Cyl 4 0.4 mm Cyl 1. 0.65 mm Cyl 2 0.65 mm Cyl 3. 0.6 mm So went for 1 mm shim or 0.04 inch To get 1.4 to 1.6 final
but you currently have 4 o.2of an inch, half a mm spacers, so you can sort at least on barrel, have you not got any old spacers that you can combine to sort 2 barrels then at least you can start building up that side.
No old spacers some came in the gasket set but they are very thin so wnt get me the height I need Yes new barells
I'd hold out for the thicker ones you want. Ring up CA and explain and I'm sure they'll send out new and cover the post.
