2332cc type 1 motor with CB 044 performance heads and a slightly warm cam. Building it for cruising not out right speed so happy to re-jet as needed. Tbh was gona have a go at re-jetting my 34ict’s as I thought it would stop me hammering it when it’s new but tbh don’t wanna pull it out again the swap them in the future.
+1 on the 44's, Dell 40's are nice, if you want the look get some 48's, IDF or IDA's with the third progression hole drilled; but not cheap and can spit fire and do other nasties if not set up properly, even a chipped dizzy cap arm can render them dangerous. Try the Cal Look guys on cal-look.no Ritchie Webb at rkvolksperformance is a good source, always been straight with me, Dumb question, but is your gearbox I sorted too?
Cheers bud will do. Gearbox is standard at the min. As I say looking for cruising more than performance. I’m lifting the van and putting some big all terrains on on 16” syncro wheels so that will gear it up quite a lot. Once I’ve tried it out I’m gona have the box rebuilt by bears and make any adjustments I may need then.
I’ve modded and flipped the rear ‘lowering’ spring plates to lift the back which has given me a load of lift but the limit at the moment is the drive shaft angle. Going run it as high as I’m happy with and see what it is like. If I want more then think I either get some custom UJ drive shafts made or lower the engine and box slightly (gear linkage may be an issue). On the front I have removed my drop spindles and air suspension putting the original gear back on. Going to remove my adjusters and turn them to give me lift as appose to lowering. This should make it run higher and should match the back ok. If I want more I’m going to mod the beam mounts and run that lower in the chassis. Aiming to get it nice and high whilst retaining the full suspension movement. I want comfort after trying to run it as low as possible since it a proper family camping wagon now (I’m getting old). Will have a full front t2d drop spindle/air suspension setup for sale soon. It’s done about a 1500 miles and also a good set of Fuchs reps with decent tyres.
