WANTED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSHROD

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by mig_man, Jun 30, 2013.

  1. Can anyone help with a brake pushrod to go between the brake pedal and master cylinder on a '72 non-servo bus please?

I've spent a fortune on new cylinders and calipers all round for my resto project but they don't work very well at the moment as I can't find the pushrod to actually actuate them! I've spent hours searching for it to no avail. Maybe it wasn't there in the first place (quite a few bits weren't) or maybe I've lost it in the past 2 years or so since I would have removed it.

If you've got one please let me know how much you want for it including postage to West Sussex.

    Thanks
    Tim

    I have one from a 68, I imagine they're the same.

  3. Hi Zed
Thanks for your response. I'll try to find out for definite that the earlier rod is the same. I read somewhere that they were changed at some point but not sure when.

The servo ones are certainly different. I can measure/photo if it helps.

  6. Hi Zed
Sorry for the delay getting back yo you, I've been busy sorting out some very dodgy electrics on my bus (all sorted now apart from the lack of charging - probably the regulator as I've found a new one lurking in one of the boxes that came with the bus and the dynamo was charging ok when I bench-tested it).
As regards the brake pushrod, I'm definitely interested if I'm happy it's likely to fit. If you could let me have photo/basic measurements (dia of bit that goes inside piston, length from pedal pin to end of pushrod and dia of pedal pin) that would be great. Probably easiest to email me direct at k6cottage_tim@btinternet.com. I expect it is going to be correct so if you also let me know the best way to pay you I can sort that once I've seen the photo/dimensions
    Cheers
    Tim
