brake pedal going down a fair way?

  1. Yeah sorry I hijacked the thread a bit!

  2. The star adjusters only operate on one end of the shoe. If they are well out of adjustment do them up tight them stand on the pedal hard then do it again. This will re centre the shoes in the drum and ensure the whole surface of the shoe has been brought closer to the drum not just the end by the star adjusters. Once the wheel bind after doing this a small amount back on the stars will stop them binding. Then adjust the handbrake. If the pedal still travels too far turn your attention to m/cyl and bleeding

    paradox and snotty like this.
  3. ^ always good to do. Adjust stars, stomp on pedal to centre shoes, adjust again.

  4. Alright cheers, I'll give it another go!
