Brake servo vacuum pick up with twin idf's

  1. Hi all,

I'm putting some twin 40 idf's on my 2.0l type 4 engine, and just want to confirm with someone who had done this before.

Do I drill and tap an outlet from one of the inlet manifolds to pick up the brake servo?

Last bus I did this to didnt have servo brakes so I didn't need to worry about it!!

Any help if you have done this before would be bad ass.

    Cheers

  2. Mine has twin idf's and both manifolds are drilled and connected via a balance pipe

  3. I'm running a 1978 with 2ltr on twins and I have only one manifold drilled and the servo works fine, it's not necessary to have it connected to both , it's only a vacuum your after. :))

  4. VW deemed it nessesary as standard they had them both connected .. I`m sure it`ll work ok with one tho

  5. One port is fine :)

  6. Cheers guys, spoke to euro carb today and they say one is enough.

  7. One should be enough: you're just interested in maintaining a vacuum, rather than balancing carbs. One 10mm(?) barb should be ok.
