OK so I have clear style headlights on my Beetle which passed the MOT no problem. Put the same ones in the Bay and it failed on beam pattern? The only difference is the bulbs I used, do you get LHD bulbs?
No...it's all in the reflector/lense Are you sure that you haven't been sold some LHD clear lense ones?
When I said the same ones, I meant the EXACT same ones that he passed a week earlier?!?! Only changed the bulbs cos 1 had blown. See above for last week and this week picture.
Well that's a bit odd!! Could it be a different tester? I know with the clear lenses that the pattern is flat and not kicked to illuminate the verge... picky tester could've failed it for that!! Best thing to do is to go back and speak to the tester!!
New plan. Fit bulbs slightly on the skew and fib heavily. Same tester did both who freely admits hating VW's. I think a change of Garage is required.
He passed them first time then thought about it? I have them on mine too but expecting to fail, I only put them on because a bulb blew in the standard ones. If he hates VW's take it somewhere else.
I'll take you up on that Keith as it's only a 10 min job. Will come and see you tonight if you're about and let you have them back at the weekend. Will also talk to a farmer about mowing and let you know.
