Camper heights

  1. Could anyone tell me what height to the top of the pop top ?
As I mentioned in my intro im looking at buying a camper and would be even better if if can get in the garage. I've got 2050mm clear .

And do the heights change between tgd different style pop tops?
    Thanks in advance

The poptop heights heights do differ, the suspension does change the height, the weight inside also alters the height.

As to heights, yes the do differ. I have a 78 Westy and mine sits at 2050mm and afaik it is all standard heights.

A standard height rear hinge Westy is about 2050 but heights change between buses and between pop-top styles. Many are lowered, many have sagged a bit over the years and a few have been raised.

When the chaps doing the respray asked the height, I reckon mine was just about 205 cm too.
Stock height, Devon poptop, with a roof vent

Here's an early westfalia in inches lol. 80.12" = 2035mm. Looks a bit tight and if you have an up and over door take that into consideration too as half shut it might still mash into the van if you don't have the depth to drive it well into the garage.
A lot of folk have to rebuild the garage entrances raising the lintel and fitting side hung doors.

I’m very careful going into cat parks with a 2.1m height restriction.

I've just had our garage entrance modified including new side-hinged doors so we can get the camper in. We've worked on 2200 for our Devon double-top, which is a little bit taller than most

Sadly this is one use for lowering the suspension..
My Devon poptop is about 1950mm to the top of the low profile non standard roof vent on a bus lowered 75mm.. so it goes into 2m clearance carparks.
    Its 2050mm with a roofrack.

Without lowering and a standard Devon roof vent that would be also in the region of 2050mm to poptop and 2130mm with a roofrack.

Mine is under 2m but taller than 1.9m. That’s all I know.
