I dont know, £ for £ the more expensive one might be better value.. the green one looks a bit filler heavy, you can see that in the pics. and whats under the surface might not be to great.. they have even been to lazy to make any definition at the panel joint between the front arch and B post... right rear arch is a bit suspect too.. 12k to buy it and 10 k to put it right. makes the 20k one on here a great buy.... ;)

might just be my perception but are average vans starting to go down in price?

  2. I think the type of person/family/buyer is definitely looking for a restored or original example. At the Tynemouth show there were a few people asked if my bus was for sale and a couple told me they had paid 32k for a Brazilian bus because they feared the breakdowns, bubbling rust etc etc etc

  3. I think a renovated old one is a much better than a Brazillian bus. Especially in the rust stakes. I saw a 61 plate Danbury a month ago and the bumpers were completely rusted through.

  4. I sometimes see a blue Danbury Brazilian with rusted bumpers, it looks down in the mouth compared to a well restored original, plus the interiors are cheap looking and will never last like the old ones. Makes a restored bus look like great value

  5. Mines going to be on an agreed valuation at 30 k when its finished

I dont know if its actually worth that in the market place
However im pretty sure theres not another bus out there with the same attention to detail on all the components and the mods pauls doing for me
To replace it with a bus to the same standard would cost probably more
It makes my insurance £400 a year but i think its worth it
Its not covered whilst im off road though so i better be carefull

Im up to five figures on my parts bill alone on my van resto ( wish I never did a tally a few weeks ago ) Its not turning out as detailed as I would have liked to be honest even though the paint is matched to the leather interior, the cabinetry is beautifull waxed beech all the suspension components are painted the same linnen white as the contrast stripe in the leather ... the wires are run through some fancy rubber coated reinforded conduits plumbed into the chassis, the underside is painted to a high gloss in body colour ( I was sad enough to flat it down between coats so theres a bit of blood in there too) and every bolt will be replaced by stainless.. when I get around to reasembly .... and if that wasnt sad enough, the gearstick and parkbrake lever, and a few other odds and ends are off to the chromers.... and ive just marked out the ally sheet for a full louvred belly pan..just to add to the details.. But I think I would be hard pressed to make a few quid or even get my cash back if I were to sell it. I think realistically I would value it around £15k if pressed.. Im not doing it to sell it though...or show it .. its an exercise in finding out if I can hang in there and turn out the best I can for nothing more than self satisfaction...then sell it lol... On the other side of the coin, the van I just bought, with a wee bit of tidying, minimul welding, a couple of hundred quid worth of seals and a fresh respray, for a relatively small investment and loads of time saved on the detail it will probably turn around for the £10k mark at the right time of year ... to the right buyer....Ive no idea where that was going by the way as I was fixated on the chick with the big boobs on take me out ... Im kinda hoping that I can raise enough from the sale of both to buy a decent lowered updated September built, 64 split.. a September 64 cause that will be the same age as me... :)

If I lost mine Money couldn't replace one bit off it. It would get me a van no doubt. But it wouldn't have any part of me in it.

I would buy a wreck and start again!
