Seems the tickets are on sale. i got a £10 reduction last year because they introduce the £10 for you vehicle. So i wont be going. I love the atmosphere and the people of course. But the toilets are a joke as are the showers and as well as the water points. 85 quid plus would pay for the fuel and a weekend camping to somewhere like shell island. Just saying.
isnt shell island full of chavs i went once in winter its a rearly nice place but i read sum bad reviews in summer time
look, can we kindly keep the anti @CamperJam threads to just my one? otherwise if they do decide to give me a free ticket, 1 to 1 with the beat a toffee apple and some candy floss I might miss it. they won't respond, I've been on my mission to get a quote off them for two years now, trouble is it will sell out at £50 a go and they know it.
No problem with t4/t5 as a van but there is a lot (not all) that are owned by a certain breed They tend to have big stereos and big wheels on a builders van and they are taking over and spoiling the relaxed, chilled out good nature shows that i use to like.
Going to lay my cards on the table A vw camper is a old classic vehicle with character a split/bay/T25 fits T4/5s are very good but put a de badged one next to a de badged transit, Merc or any other new van and most people will not be able to tell the difference Do the same with a bay or split with a van of the same age and they will know. The number of the school mums or others who I come across and say they have a vw camper when they have a T4/5 van shows they have missed the point and it's these that are taking over the shows thinking it's all about making as much noise and showing off rather than chilling out with a bunch of old hippys Hard hat on
What's wrong they shouldn't be allowed in there should be air cooled only or pre 198? Something to allow T25's in. If they have too. And yes I am a proud owner off a silver LWB T5 van it's great to drive, I vowed I would never join the to55ers brigade but I did, but would never dream off pulling up to a show in it to show it off it's a builders van.
Well said Matty. Post aircoolled t25s ( and syncros of course) vw have no appeal to me. I have said it before " If you want a reliable modern camper" get a Bongo. Soz to all you t4/5 owners out there but they are no different to other modern vans imo.
So whats the tarriff to purchase one of these fine modern vehicles and for that money could I possibly get mine restored and fit a scooby lumpa and fit power steering. All i need then is some air con and i should be able to compete shouldnt I. In all seriousness though I think i would have one to eat the miles more economically. it does the same thing when you get there (unless you just go to shows) but it just looks like, well, what it is - a modern van with a badge that has some heritage! Oh yes - camperjam - im first in line for the free tickets @rickyrooo1
The thing is I don't dislike them. But as we all seem to be saying. They kind of lack the vw err- "Je ne seis quoi".
