We have 3 young children so desperately need to maximise sleeping space in the roof of our van. Can we adapt a Viking late bay van by adding the push-out bunk if we were to buy a larger Super Viking roof, or do we just need to buy bigger bellows to accommodate the addition? Thanks for your help ;-)
I'd heard from an apparent good source (a former worker from their Leighton Buzzard manufacturer) its just a case of changing the bellows, the locating slots/cutouts for the poles which support the bellows are already there, but I would check the length of these against a super viking to be safe.
I believe the roof canvasses are the same, you would just need to get hold of the slider bunk. Good luck with finding it though, most people with the super viking stuff dont want to get rid of it. We made this mistake and ended up with the smaller Viking, but I'm going to adapt it and make a huge size "all in one" bed up top, which will partly fold/slide out of the way when not in use
Thanks Kruger - I would then just have to change the sleeping config in the roof by adding the push out bed over the sliding door
I have the push out bed part for a viking in the garage I've change mine to suit my new roof hole so it's now surplus
Before you sell it on, I'd like to see some pics of that, for referecne, if I ever feel the need to change the arrangement upstairs it might give me something to go on!
the canvases are a lot bigger on a super viking they come out a lot further to accommodate the bed ! park a viking and super viking near each other and the difference in obvious
i stand corrected sir! its been a couple of years since my last full erection so my memory is a bit foggy. besides i usually beleive most of my bits to be bigger than they really are
