Just went outside to wash car, spotted a hilux and two guys having a right nosey at my garage door I watched them, they didn't care, could see hand signals like they were explaining to Each other how they would break in. Here we go I have a company arriving tomorrow to quote on a roller shutter. Thieves, I hate thieves.
Get your phone out and take some pictures or video of them, especially number plates and faces... They will soon think twice.
also - on the inside of the door add as many bottles - cans - jangly things as possible ... or even cligfilm the gap so when they walk in they get wrapped in it .... ..... or even better .... a drop down giant cage - so when they enter - it closes behind them ... or build a brick wall .... so when they enter they are presented with a wall OR - Sit there on a chair with a sawn off shot gun pointed at them as they enter
If it aint your daily driver , remove one wheel and take the securing bolts indoors its either drive away or lift onto other vehicle aint it .
Get some extra security on there now. I'd be going down to the DIY shop as soon as they'd left for all sorts of locks and bolts and stuff if that were me. Remove a wheel as has been said, wheelclamp another wheel, remove the rotor arm out of the distributor, whatever it takes to make nicking your van enough hassle to put them off.
There is now 6 shot bolts, 4 up the sides and 2 going into the concrete floor with a total of 12 padlocks, 8 of those are bolt cutter resistant. Did have time to go in, get camera/phone camera, it was a new all white Mitsubishi Hilux, both had hi-viz jackets on. We'll see.
Hi-viz jackets lend an air of legitimacy ..... a common ploy round here for travelling thieves and fly tippers. However you've taken precautions just in case.
