Cling wrap.

  1. Hi.
Probably been asked loads of times before , but apart from making your sandwiches sweaty…
    I don’t think it helps from scavenging seagull’s ,

Does it help to use aluminum foil to keep your sandwiches better shielded from the sun?
    Thanks

Cling film is great for making poached eggs

Use old McDonald’s cartons and throw them in the road afterwards, that’s what I do!

  5. Don't forget to drive over what's left of your milkshake

Cling film, made in Bridgewater. That town stinks of hot plastic…

  8. Blimey is that place still there? I can remember the stench from when I was a kid as we drove through on our way to Minehead:eek:

how do you do that? Our poacher pan doesn’t work on the new induction hob :(

pop cling film over a mug with a dip in and crack the egg. Wrap the cling film at the top so egg doesn’t pour out, take it out of mug and pop it in pan of boiling water. Perfect every time.

  12. I was given a clingfilm replacement recently. It's like a thin cotton handkerchief impregnated with bee's wax. I the idea is that you wrap your sarnies in it to keep them fresh, but can reuse it. It can also be washed and 'reactivated' by ironing at low temperature. Must confess, I've never used it.

I’ve got one of those but never get round to taking sandwiches to work!

ta, I will try that. I’ve seen people doing it dropping the egg directly into water but I think that makes the white a bit watery

Great tip I’ll try that too

I knew reading your posts would bear fruit eventually, it’s been a while but you’ve finally come good :hattip:

  16. Aluminium foil let's the sarnies breathe - but cling film is best for parties over the bog.

Could you find/do you have, a saucepan with magnetic base? Doesn’t have to be a poaching pan as such, any pan will do so long as a magnet sticks to it

edit: just seen your post re watery whites. You could still use a magnetic pan with the Hailfrank method.

Put some vinegar into the water. It helps to set the white.

Stretch cling film tightly over a toilet, and listen to the fun happen.
Alternatively, sellotape a piece into a door frame then call your spouse/ friend in, quickly…
