Clutch issue

  1. Hi all, I’ve had a couple of clutch issues with my 78 1600 bay when driving at low speeds in traffic. I was part of a vw camper convoy last night - so driving at slow speeds for around 2 hours - stop / start crawling in heavy traffic using mostly 1st and 2nd gears. After about 40 mins I was struggling to engage 1st gear, 2nd was difficult but could go from 3rd to 2nd. Also had a burning clutch smell. Once on the open road it was fine and after we parked up at the event and drove home there were no issues. Clutch was replaced just over a year ago along with the main engine seal. Is this a common issue in situations which are heavy on the clutch or something which needs attention? Cheers Rob

Possibly a gear stick adjustment needed

  3. It's not normal. Sounds like the clutch isn't disengaging fully. Clutch cable properly adjusted?

  5. Is there any play / movement in the pedal?
