I looked for those a while ago and drew a blank. I read a review of the Cobb which said that they worked fine so be good to know how you get on :)

  3. Could anyone light the cobb ones without a firelighter, I gave up trying after burning my finger from holding it for too long.

i just use australian heat beads with a fire lighter, theyre brilliant!

  5. Used my first one yesterday.
They are lot easier to light, done within a few seconds, but stand back it a bit like a firework going off. Flames for about two minutes. Takes 15 to 20 mins before you can use them.
They smoke more while first burning and a bit more dirty, slight bits off ash coming off but when they ate ready to cook this seems to stop.
When ready they seem to burn hotter and longer after two and a bit hours I recon I could have cooked some sausages.

Going to cook a chicken today. If I'm home I always part cook it in the oven first and finish off on the Cobb, iknow with Cobb ones after two hours it's cooling down so will watch out today.

  8. The other ones I bought light so easy, there I was bending over it like the Cobb ones to stop the wind blowing over it next second I nearly lost my eyebrows.
You can't beat the smell off burning eyebrows in the morning.

  9. Australian 'love beads' as the wife calls them, you can't beat them for the heat and the fact you can re-use them by dunking them in water and drying them out, before their totally spent that is. Considering the heat and the cooking time they give, it's false economy buying cheap supermarket briquetts.

Homefire Fibre-Lighters, eco friendly and odourless from B&Q work very well :)

    Bloody hell
They know how to charge for those things, that's about 5 times the price we pay for them :p
They're made from genuine RooPoo you know.
