there is a South Wales based company that pops a splittie fibreglass front on a early/latebay body! Some of them don't look too bad, depending on how its finished off
Baysplits they are called - plastic fantastic! devalue the source vehicle, but some people like them? If you want a weird Split get one of the later Brazilian/Nigerian ones?
Pretty sure that is a scam - usually is with a too good to be true price, a seller with 0 feedback and minimal pics and description
You might be right but not many fans of Baysplits even 10 years later! On a par with the people that chopped up Ovals and Split beetles to make Baja bugs! Fools!
No, worse than the ones who chopped them up for baja's, are those who transplanted a larger window in the back of ovals.
exactly but that was in the 60's and done for safety reasons rather than showing off at VW shows! hahaha,
Most of the old split beetles went for a fiver in the 70's because they had crap cable brakes I believe. You couldn't give them away.
A friend of mine had this made from a ,,,,, i think it was a 53 http://www.google.no/search?q=wiger...2KMO14AT_7YDQCw&ved=0CDEQsAQ&biw=1366&bih=667
It wasn't though was it? It was mainly done to make them look like the newer model, so was primarily for looks.
