  4. I know its just it looks complete ,seems such as waste but I guess after a few years under water its a write off :(

  5. And unfortunately it is someone's grave

  6. Heard on the radio that it's cost £500 million to raise it so far!! That's a lot if scrap metal...

  7. Underwriters will have declared it a total loss...a lengthy immersion in salt water will have pickled anything of immediate value other than scrap. Once salt gets into a material its nearly impossible to remove its effects. Of course there may well be an enterprising soul that would buy up a few fixtures and fittings to sell for their possible curio value.

I understand that a large portion of the cost to move her is the enviromental one......not many years ago it might have been broken up on the spot once secured and just reduced to maneagable chunks. Creating an apalling mess as anyone has seen Alang Beach style ship breaking would verify.

yeah its all about the environment oh and the tourist trade, but there must be money in it as there are lots of ships like this broken for scrap, there is a scrapyard near me that used to regularly have submarines in being cut up

  12. When I first saw they were going to refloat it I presumed they were going to refit and mend , your right they should have just cut it up there.

Cutting it up there isn't a good idea. Isn't it a massive marine reserve or something?

  14. Why not clear it out, make safe, clean oil contaminants out sink and make into a divers reef.

Its not deep enough, its sat on the bottom now isn't it?

  16. Yeah it's grounded that's why it didn't completely capsize.

  17. I tjink It's on a ledge, think they was concerned about it sliding down deeper.
