Door alignment

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by earlybaybob, Aug 23, 2013.

  1. Hi,

Both the driver and passenger doors aren't flush with the body when fully closed - how do I adjust them? It's almost like they need to close just a little bit more - aligned in all other aspects though.

    Cheers

  2. Move the striker plate in slightly.

  3. As above but they may not close depending on the quality of your door seals

  4. Wear on hinges to be considered, but most likely striker plate adjustment.

Depending on the history of the doors a bit of a twist may help . My bus had new doors which fitted perfectly without a seal. When the seal went in the bottom of the passenger door twisted out enough for an icy draught in wintertime. So I opened the door and twisted it unti it sealed again. Only mild steel .

  6. Without sounding like a complete noob - which bit is the striker plate? (Photo?)

The bit on the door frame, not the door.
