earth strap on gear box

  1. Need to change the earth strap on gearbox as it's seen better days , now I've got a few earth straps knocking about that are a thick solid copper cable with the correct connections on the end , the cables are a good half inch thick , is there any reason I can't use one of these or does it have to be the flat braided one for some daft reason ?

    Thanks

  2. Go ahead use it

  3. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

Braided is happier with vibration, a solid one won't last so long before metal fatigue snaps it.

  4. ^this. A flexi-copper job will be more resistant to vibration.

  5. Thanks, will use it for now and pick up a braided one when I get chance :)
