Ive been looking for some new front seats for the pig. I was recently bidding on ebay for some golf seats that were well cheep and in donny so I could go pick em up!! (bangs you ead and in!!!) Last night an hour before the end of the auction someone (who has a100% bid score for this seller) bid them well out of my intended price range!! : : I had had a beer or 2 and i was so gonna bid bid to win but then I had a brain wave (somthing new to me!! ) so i didnt up my bid!! Today they are re posted same picture with no Im sorry the bloke who won didnt pay up etc etc!! :-X :-X So for the first time in my life ive tell tailed!! (to ebay) I dont like it at all and feel a little bad about it but it is a clear bid up scam to make what the seller wants!! Why doesnt he (or she) just put a reserve on it???? : My next step is get my local donny friends to go have a road trip to prove a point!! ;D ;D Dont step away from your computers you know who you are!! : :
have seen that before - the same bidder chucks in a stupidly large bid with a few minutes to go to try and entice you to make a split decision and pay up. Not good. Even if you were able to bid again on the relisted item, would you want to.
I am getting more and more disillusioned with eBay, too many chancers on there. When I was selling my vintage caravan the guy who was bidding on it sent me a long email saying he would like it for his kids but wouldn't be able to collect it for four weeks after the auction ended, however if i let him buy it cash now he could come right away. I said I didn't have a buy it now price. At the end of the auction he actually did come to collect it, didn't mention any kids at all and it was quite apparent he did them up for money. Then he decided he didn't want it anyway. He was obviously trying to buy it cheap initially and had spun a line. More and more ads seem to be saying "relisted due to time waster". I like to look for the best in people but I am not sure that is wise on eBay now.
eBay is not the place it once was, too many people out to make a profit. There are still some honest sellers in there but you have to search hard to find them, gone are the days when you could buy Vulcan bombers made out of cheese.
I don't use eBay so I wouldn't be in your situation. Personally I'd let it go, eBay won't do anything and life really is too short!
I remember this guy got what he deserved. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3042134/eBay-seller-prosecuted-for-bidding-in-his-own-auctions-is-spared-jail-sentence.html Well not quite, but nearly. He should have been Jailed.
post the listing up here trev you message him first saying you noticed thats he s relisted them and offer him less than you wanted to pay then we can all spam him with daft questions like has he got them in a different colour and generally p him about
I never get this standard reaction on here: How is you annoying the seller about any more acceptable than the seller annoying the OP about? It's just a [glow=red,2,300][glow=red,2,300]FACT[/glow][/glow] of life on eBay, let it go!
I only fight winnable battles. Keyboard warrior has never really been my thing! eBay couldn't give a toss what sellers get up to as long as it's not avoid fees.
