Just a bit of trivia for you re pick ups and crew cabs .

    1952 first pick model ( 26) introduced from Chassis 20 030 590

The developement of the pick initiated the placement of the petrol tank from the original place rh side to above the rear axle.

The space below the cargo bed is officially called ' the treasure chest'

Crew cabs became available from VW not a 'Binz' conversion from the 3rd October 1958.

Tail script badges were introduced in Oct 62.

The first bus to roll off the production line at Hanover on the 9th of March 1956 was a dove blue pick up.

I have more, but I will shut up now....

That isn't such a bad thing really. I mean - you could probably weld with Bunson burner a welding rod and a bit of flux where has. I can't weld.. soo, the better the kit the easier the job for a relative novice like me I would think?

Not sure about the first bit, but yes to the second part.
All the skills of these trades have a common feature gained with experience - knowing when to stop.
Painting it's just before it sags and runs
Welding is just before you blow a hole
    Plastering...

  16. Poppy I've got one of these and its been brilliant, both for learning and using -

It does have have the 1 2 3 max and min, but I've actually found that quite handy in that if its thin steel and i'm seam welding its no.1 on max and if i'm plug welding then its no.2 on min, if that doesn't quite seem to do it then knock it over to max :)

Also quite handy if you have a machine mart near you, for when you muller the tips and need to replace them!

I have the same as the cebora one, had it 6-7 years never had a problem, very good gear, £250 is as cheap as you will get one used, but it will do everything you need and spares are readily available .
