Hi all, I was wondering whether if its possible to buy covers for the fresh air vents at the top of the engine bay? Was just thinking it would save the battery tray etc getting soaked every time it rains. Haven't been able to find anything similar on the internet. Is there a reason they seemingly don't exist? Perhaps I'll make my own out of plastic and clips. Kind Regards
I think its because most people don't see them as worth having and a pain in the arse to use. Saying that, I'm pretty sure someone has made a set out of some thicker plastic - might be worth a search.
Ive cut a pair from Ali sheet mate , deffo worthwhile ,but then its constantly raining here ,(Glasgow)and yes I once I forgot to remove them pre journey ,engine cut out very quickly.
haha maybe come xmas! but yup I'll have a go at knocking some up tomorrow, will post results....barring spectacular failures .
Magnetic poster sheet. Comes in metre rolls via eBay. Use it on my bus air vents keeps water off battery trays. Blows off easily while stationary. Stays on with suction once the engine is running wont blow off at any speed. Takes oil temp to 130 degrees, maybe cracks heads if left on.
Well I dont have a camera to hand but covers are up and working velcro strap runs down from above top rung and through holes in bottom of cover. Nice simple design will take half a hurricane to blow off. Shame about the duck tape, need to cover in a smart material soon! Tied a red ribbon over steering wheel to remind me to remove.
Trust me , Nooster , when I left mine on I did not get bus off driveway ,quick run thru memory banks as to why my bus had ceased to proceed.
