Title says it really I'm looking for one of those rotating engine stand so I can work on my engine easier. It's a type 4 by the way.
I'll buy or if you prefer I can rent from you if your not using yours at the moment.

  2. You can borrow mine but I'm over in Oxford. Hopefully someone closer will have one.

Cheers Oscar, as you say someone closer to Peterborough will have one but if not my son might pick it up for me.

Hi Oscar, my son is going to Bournemouth this sat and said he could go via Oxford.

Is your stand floor standing as I don't have a bench strong enough to mount a bench mounted one on.

  6. It's floor standing one with wheels. I'm not around Saturday but I can leave it out in a safe place for him. Ill pm you my address in a mo.

That's fantastic thanks, your a true gem. Aaron's asking if its big!

  8. It's about a metre and a bit high but ill take it apart so it can be laid flat, it's only one bolt.

Gordon Bennet, bend down and whip the head off, if it's bust get another on, engine in and go camping. :)
It'll be a hell of a struggle getting it onto the stand. ;)

Can I take the heads off with all the valve gear still in situ?

No, it's in the way of the nuts. Just do the side you suspect first? No.1 would make sense as that split idle circuit pipe on the inlet manifold was on that side.

  13. Have you taken it apart yet? Do you still want the stand? Just checkin like! :)

Oh yeah! Aaron's collecting it tomorrow if that's still ok. On a stand it'll be a lot easier to sort out the exhaust and heat exchangers.

By the way you have got the spider cradle thing that bolts to the engine as well haven't you?

  16. Cool. Ill be around for a bit tommorrow after that it'll be where I said.
Hope when you open up its not to bad mate.
    All the best. :)

  17. Yes. That's the bit I mentioned that will need a nibble with a grinder, unless you find another way. You can grind away as much as you like to make it fit. Like I said you'll see what needs doing when you offer it up.

  18. Hey Oscar, any chance of using it after sandybay? My engine's not out yet but needs to be as I've no comp on cylinder 4, even after adjusting the tight valve I found :(

I want to get it out and back before the bad weather sets in as my van won't fit in the garage, but I won't know how far it will need to be stripped until it's out.

I'm in Bedfordshire, so not too far to pick up.

    wad u recon?

  19. That's fine by me mate. Have a word with sandybay and just let me know. So I can keep track of it.

    @allibus and @oscar
In the end I didn't actually use it as I decided to get the whole thing rebuilt by a professional engineering company.

Thank you for the loan though Oscar. As long as you're happy to lend it to Allibus then I'll drop it off to him.
