I bought the 3m one as most I'd seen on campers stop at the front of the sliding door. I thought the rain would blow around the end into the van.
Here it is when it was quite new and it's not fully wound out. I'll add some current photos in a few days time.

I've added new prices in brackets. Please feel free to hunt for keener prices, but these seem to be the best I could find so that you appreciate how much these cost new even when bargain hunting.

F45S x 3m, colour "evergreen", case polar white, complete with the winding handle (I cut this down as it was about 6ft long!) and pegs for the leg feet as originally supplied. The colours effect the price if you're researching. (£725)

In addition there are "extras" I wouldn't be without:
Fiamma tie down kit as seen in the photo above. (£25)
Fiamma rafter pro (curved, adjustable, fit's in the centre to stop any water pooling, clips onto awning structure at each end (£53)
The brackets to fix to the van (£75)
Total about £875. Maybe if you hunt around you'd get that down to £850, but I doubt it. :)

Also available (but weren't when I bought it) is a slot in rubber flap that fills the gap between the case and the van roof if you feel the need.

It's about 7 years old but has been used only about 5 times as the last time I camped was pre-covid. The brackets could do with painting but otherwise it's pretty well as good as new, remarkable since it's lived outdoors all that time. It's a really well made bit of kit and of course the big plus - you don't have to pack it away inside the van apart from the handle, tie downs and rafter. Wind it out, drop the legs down takes less than a minute, another couple of minutes to attach the tie downs and rafter - job done. :)

Selling because in all honesty I've given up camping. Living on a boat satisfies that semi-outdoor thing.

£600 ono for the lot. It's in Rufford Lancs and pick up only. It will stay on the van until you come to get it because I have nowhere to keep it and if I were buying it I'd like to see it all works as it should. I reckon half an hour tops to take it off the van.

Are you going to techenders? I’m looking for an awning for my motorhome

Any idea how long the legs extend?

Unfortunately not, did you miss the "given up camping" bit?

A long way, it's designed for motorhomes, you can see on the pic they're barely extended. I'll measure one when I take the pics.

I'll still roll it all out to be sure it's still as good as the first 3-4ft I unwound yesterday, take some pics etc. :)

I forgot to fit/photo the rafter pro but it's as good as the rest honest!
It's curved and holds the canvas away from the arms, tightens things up a bit and stops water pooling, not that this is a problem if you simply adjust one leg a bit shorter. I'll probably do it tomorrow, had enough for today.

@Zed do the brackets have to screw into the body work or is that how you've chosen to do it?

I chose to do that after a few months, it vibrated a bit at 80mph and I didn't think it was doing my gutters much good. :)

I do drive at 80mph sometimes, but that was a joke. It vibrated below that speed too. Much as I hated making those holes it did fix it more securely. Probably one on each bracket would have been enough but once I made the first...

I didn't screw the brackets to the body on my F35 Pro 300 awning. AFAIK there is no vibration at 130kph but there is so much wind noise and general racket I wouldn't know anyway, it's still there after 13 years so it can't be a major problem.
Looks like new Steve, Marty SmartyCat has a bargain.

Looking at mine today it's possible I fitted the inside part of the bracket the wrong way round but as I recall it wouldn't fit the other way. It's a mystery. The "socks" fell off mine, it must have been moving. One difference between yours and mine is that mine sticks out in front of the poptop so maybe catches the wind more.

This beauty is still up for grabs.
    First come first served.

    Bump.
Anyone put off by the screws, they're belt and braces really -not necessary according to 77westy. I may have assembled the clamps incorrectly too. I would clamp them with blind grommets fitted in those bracket holes to cushion against the bodywork.

  18. Do you have any idea how much it weighs Steve?
