Fitting a T2 tow bar...

Hi all, I've just finished fitting and wiring up my tow bar for my t2. For the wiring, I've basically just sliced into the original rear lights. Everything works but the trailer lights are quite dim. Is there a positive I can pop in to make them brighter? Thanks
