Hi all , any one know of a cheap solution to put 4 pot front cailpers on standard front discs ? Ie wilwood ect anyone selling that adapter brackets ect Cheers Aaron .
Wagenswest have a kit but it’s not what I’d call cheap. https://wagenswest.com/product/1971-79-bus-front-wilwood-caliper-kit/
In the UK there's Fosseway who do a set of 4 pot bolt on calipers Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk
Cheers all I've looked at all of them the cheapest option is the wagonswest , I was going to get the fosseway ones but they have increased there price it's £595+vat I was just seeing if anyone has modified a set to fit a bay less than £500 !
I’ve upgraded brakes on several cars in the past (put brembo 4 pots on my daily driver civic too) but for the bay I really never felt it needed it, it’s not like you’re arriving quickly at a hairpin on a mountain road or doing track days where fade might be an issue.. bigger caliper won’t make it stop any faster if the limiting factor is tyre grip. I can easily lock up all 4 wheels on the bay if I stomp on it.
There's a complicated calculation on one of the forums, comparing 4 small pots applied further out to the 2 large OG pots. The 4 pots where better but not by the margin you'd expect - 28%, I seem to remember, not double. It concluded that the bus had ample pots. While vacuum assist won't increase the closed loop braking power as the brain's feedback kicks in, it will make the braking experience a bit sharper.
