Fuel tank hose and filler neck pipes, Also fuel cut off valves

  1. Hi

I'll be dropping my engine soon so I was going to replace the fuel tank hose and filler neck pipes, but I dont know which ones I need for a 72 late bay.

Can anyone help which ones I need to order please? Also are there any makes to avoid?

I'll fit a fuel cut off valve too something like this

Has anyone else fitted one? which did you use?

    Cheers

  2. Ideally, you want an electrically controlled cut-off, so the fuel's shut off when you switch the ignition off. Manual ones you'll have trouble getting to if your van's ablaze.

  3. That does look like one for an early. Fitting them to late, you have to chop a large bit off the end as I recall (which caused me much distress)...

  4. Is it quite easy to see which pipe I need with the engine already in place?

  5. If you unclip your air filter out of the way and prise off the large circular tin lid you can with a bit of juggling using a mirror and torch see what fuel pipe is hiding in there. The lower hose on a late bay is only 100mm or so long and virtualy straight. The early is considerably longer and has a bend in it.

  6. I ordered mine last night. 10 minutes yesterday, I removed the air filter and removed the cover panel. You are looking right at it then!

  7. While the engine was out I had a look and its the early one in my van :(

What is the small L shape pipe in the middle of the tank I cant find it in any diagrams about 15mm pipe
