Getting the hell outa Dodge (or Brum)

  1. Went to Brum for a concert last eve! Got there fine, saw the horrendous traffic going the other way on the 42 due to a major pile up and thought poor buggers. On the way back junction 6 was shut!!!! so had a lovely drive through Erdington - me and the rest of the world it seemed. Then the 42 was shut (roadworks I think) so ended up all over the shop to get home!

Seems its easy to get into but a bugger to get back from!!!!

Great. I'm going to a gig Friday night in brum. Usually just drive around!

  3. You could have called in for a cuppa tea - I live in Erdington.

And yes, the traffic is always horrendous, but its also because whenever they close motorways the traffic ALWAYS then goes through Erdington.

  4. are the tunnels still shut in brum,
you can park out of the centre and get the circular bus in, they run every 10 mins

  5. No, the tunnels reopened before the kids went back to school in September.

  6. Drive to a small Station called Hampton in Arden or Acocks green park you car for free and get the train into
    New Street or Moor street.

  7. Erdington ....................Bandit country

  8. Who (or what) you going to see?

  9. Very nice of you but it was late and I had sleepy daughter in car (couldnt find a chippy en-route either as Id consoled myself by thinking at least we could have stopped for a bag of chips!)

  10. I was at the O2 - loads of street parking available around there usually!

  11. Yep its ok round there for parking, its if you want a quick exit .Both those stations are over se brum
and v close to the airport and nec if you need to park for free for exhibitions/flights etc.Hampton is one stop
on the train for the nec /airport and v close to the motorway
