GSF Brake Calipers left to right conversion

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by EggBoxes, Dec 25, 2023.

  1. Be interesting, if anyones got a parts list, whether the part numbers for left & right are actually the same.

  2. I stand corrected...
I know which type fits mine and to be honest that's all that matters to most owners.

  3. I'd seen those but wasn't sure as seemed too cheap. Difficult to determine quality and JK etc were asking £90 plus. Alot of the suppliers don't state a brand either, so could easily be the £50 gsf marked up to the ton.
They're a simple component, so guess the quality should be ok.
Good to know @CollyP is rolling with them with no issues.

  4. Where I'm replacing both I'm assumming the type won't matter or is the knuckle different.

Here you go. Is this picture from a left or right hand caliper ? Should be straightforward....
I noticed that the bottom bleed nipple isn't shown. Probably because it had been discontinued. Shame really as I thought it was a good way to purge the system then final bleed with the top nipple.
No parts numbers I'm afraid probably same but with A and B afterwards.

You can use the bigger stiffer Girling brake pad edge springs on ATE style if you file down the edge of the spring. May help with squeal.

I have one of each style on my bus..
