Anyone got a picture that shows the "collar" part 27 on the fiche? Is it hard plastic or a rubber moulding? Any info gratefully received.

  2. dont think mine has that bit

I've only got the bit that is fitted to the upper panel (part of No13)....which looks like part 25. It is a hard (ish) black plastic bush, with a split in it presumably to allow it to compress so you can fit it into part 13

  3. I took it all apart the other day to clean and lube all the pivots and it was only when reassembling that I noticed the rod stopped its forward travel by virtue of hitting the vertical air trunk. There seems to be quite a gap between the end of the handle and what I take to be the bush ( 25 ). Which got me onto what was (27). A spacer/buffer or what.

  5. Now 27 as a brake warning light actuator would figure. The van has never had one unless it was removed very early on, which is unlikely. There were minute sticky remnants of something on the shaft so that could conceivably have been the last mortal remains of 26......

Right thanks for that....in the fullness of time I shall rummage around at the other end of the shaft and see whats what.

  6. Unless you've got a "B" light on the dash, I doubt you'd have one. Meant for US regs?

25 is a split plastic collar, 27 is a sticky rubber bumper, poss made by Haribo ("macht Bremsen froh!").

There is a threaded adjuster at the other end of the shaft (19), but thinking back may be to stop the h/b lever clouting the heat riser under the dash.

  7. Happy brakes now theres a thought. :))

  8. Zed

    Zed Gradually getting grumpier

What Snotty says - it's a fat rubber washer bump stop. Hardly ever see them and when you do they're all sticky and decomposing. However if your HB hits the bvent, maybe you vent has moverd, or the HB bracket.
